History | Employment | E-Mail Us About Atlantic: History Atlantic Plywood was founded in 1974 by Nick Cucci and Dave Larson, with the idea that customers could get great service, the best quality, and a fair price with one phone call. With a small warehouse located in Woburn, Massachusetts, word started to spread and the company grew. Proudly, we are now nine branches strong: Woburn, MA (1974), So. Windsor, CT (1981), Albany, NY (1986), E. Providence, RI (1988), Rutherford, NJ (2000), LeRoy, NY (1995), Woodside, NY (1995), Richmond, VA (1999) and Westbrook, ME (2003). Among those 9 branches and our headquarters in Woburn, MA, we currently employ approximately 250 people. We are a regional wholesaler specializing in hardwood plywoods in various sizes, cores, and thicknesses covering the territories of New England, New York state, Northern New Jersey, the state of Virginia, and Maine areas. Atlantic Plywood also stocks particleboard, MDF, Nevamar high-pressure laminates, Pionite, and Hi-Macs in our strategically located branches. As a main distributor of mills such as Uniboard (maker of Panval Melamine and Forpan particleboard), Panolam, Columbia Forest Products (producer of fine hardwood plywoods and pre-finished plywood), and Blum European hardware, Atlantic also produces proprietary products such as Versawall (slotwall) and Redilam (laminated HPL panels), and Atlantic Beadboard. Our goal is to provide the large and small woodworker with service, inventory, knowledge, and competitive pricing from one source. Since the company's inception, Atlantic Plywood has been committed to providing the best possible service and quality to our customers while developing long term and mutually beneficial relationships with them. We also developed this same type of relationship with our vendors, thereby providing us with some of the best product lines in the business. It is with this diverse product mix and commitment to our customers' changing needs, that makes us the preferred supplier in every market we are in. |
