This exciting new countertop material is quickly becoming the market leader. Made of post consumer recycled glass with a cement binder it is both environmentally friendly and beautiful to look at. Vetrazzo has been transforming waste glass in countertop material for twelve years and is now available through Atlantic Plywood's extensive distribution system in the Northeast which includes MA, VT, NH, ME, RI, DE, NY, NJ, and eastern PA.

Vetrazzo uses 100% recycled glass from various sources like, curbside recycling and bottles rejected by manufacturers. A single slab is 5' x 9', can contain as many as 1,000 bottles. That's 1,000 bottles diverted to a landfill, and transformed into a beautiful and useful product through innovative design. Each slab tells its own story, and includes a "Certificate of Transformation" with each slab, so the owner will know what kind of bottles went into making their top. Vetrazzo uses larger pieces of recycled glass, which are highly visible on the surface and make for a unique and stunning visual impact.

Vetrazzo is quickly becoming the first choice in countertops for homeowners and corporations looking for environmentally friendly products, that are changing the way we live.

The market for green building materials is growing at an explosive rate, from 12 billion in 2007 to a projected 143 billion in 2013. At the same time consumers are looking at alternative products to quartz, granite and other traditional surfaces because they are not sustainable, and a concern for the negative environmental impacts of the manufacturing process.

When it comes to "Green" Vetrazzo, is by far the market leader in the countertop industry. It is the real "Green" choice when compared to other hard surfaces and a great alternative to granite and quarried stone. Vetrazzo uses 100% recycled glass. The source of the glass content is 65% post consumer, 35% post industrial. The slab consists of 85% recycled glass and 15% cement binder. The cement has 10% fly ash content (waste material from power plants), and is made in a factory using green manufacturing principles, in Richmond, CA.
